Funding-campaign options

  • EQUITY-BASED CAMPAIGNS


    Type: Equity only (revenue share in game project)
    Success at max. 100% / All-or-nothing.
    Maximum campaign duration: 90 days


    Choosing an equity raise means you offer a percentage of your project entity to the crowd investors. The project legal entity* is a separate Dutch private company limited by shares that just holds the game project and has the investor Cooperative as single shareholder. The shareholder structure of your development studio remains untouched. 

    The equity percentage represents the part of the revenue generated by the game you offer to the Investor Cooperative** in return (revenue equals profit because all costs are made by the studio). Entrepreneurs have the possibility to edit the standard license agreement upon request prior to start of campaign. 

    An equity raise on Gambitious is limited to ?2.5 million but please be realistic in your goals. Remember that it is all-or-nothing at Gambitious.

    * The costs for setting up the project entity are ?150 prior to the campaign and around ?800 if the campaign is successful and the entity has to be formalized.

  • PLEDGE-FOR-PERKS CAMPAIGNS


    Type: Pledge for perks only 
    Success at 100% or more / All-or-nothing.
    Maximum campaign duration: 90 days

    Choosing for a pledge-for-perks campaign means that you have unlimited funding potential
    ( > ?2,5 milion) and no separate project entity has to be set up since your not offering investors a share in the project.

    It does however mean that you will have to offer every pledger the perk they selected (you determine price and perk).  Be aware of the product/service costs of the perk and possible shipping charges in the funding target. Include this in your budget.
    Also be aware that you schedule enough time to adequately produce and ship the perks to your pledgers at the specified timeframe after you received the funding.

    Pledges made (by persons within the EU) are already deducted with 19% VAT, meaning the net amount of the pledge, the amount that you are actually receiving, is added to the funding goal to keep it transparent for all.

- Create a sharp and understandable teaser
- Add visuals!
- Do not overpromise, be realistic
- Do not overvaluate, choose a realistic valuation
- Choose a realistic timeframe
- Be creative and use your own network to comment and spread the word Especially important in the first few days. Get the momentum going!
